i.Fest is an idea conceptualized by IEEE Student Branch at DA-IICT. Our main aim is to bring the budding engineers from all over India to a common platform so that they can share their knowledge with their fellow imaginers. The next big thing for technology is the newest and our favorite buzzword - Internet of Things. It's in all the little things. With time, it will become more pervasive and ubiquitous. And all that will happen with clever electronics embedding, that's also inventive and creative. So i.Fest’15 presents in the theme of Embedding Ingenuity, where creative genius comes alive.

    Time: 2:30pm Onwards
    Venue: CEP
    Event Duration: 3 hours

"Vision without action is merely a dream
Action without vision just passes the time
Vision with action can change the world"

“i.Papyrus” provides you the right platform to curb the thirst of the scientific world with your brilliant thoughts and win exciting cash prizes! It is not merely a paper presentation competition but your chance to pave way for a better tomorrow!

    A. Eligibility-:
    • An entrant must be a postgraduate student.
    • An entrant may collaborate writing a paper with additional Students, all of whom meet the above criteria.

    B. No. of Members and Entries -:
    • A team can have maximum of 3 members.
    • All the team members have to be the author of the paper they are submitting.
    • A team or an individual cannot send more than 2 entries.

    C. Subject Matter -:
    • Papers should cover technical, engineering, management, or societal aspects of subjects reasonably within or related to the areas with which the author is familiar, either from courses, hobbies, summer work, or other similar experiences.
    • The work need not be original in content since the primary function of the Student prize paper contest is to improve the student’s communication skills. The work should, however, be original in treatment and concise in coverage of the author’s contribution to the subject.

    D. Event Format
    • There will be two phases for the event. The initial phase is the online submission of the abstract. The abstracts will be verified by a panel and the best ones will be shortlisted for the next phase. The final phase is the presentation which will be conducted at i.Fest 2015 at the time allotted.

    E. Content of the Paper:
In general, the contents of the paper shall be organized as follows:
    • Separate flyleaf page in a separate file: Since the judges must handle the papers without knowledge of the identity of the author, it is required that the paper itself show no identification other than the title. The title, name of the author(s) must be shown on the flyleaf, which can be removed.
    • Title Page: On the title page, only the title of the paper may appear. The title should consist of the minimum number of key words necessary to portray accurately the contents of the paper.
    • Abstract: The abstract shall not describe the paper, but should give, in brief, the essential facts of its contents. For example, it should be a brief statement of the problem or objective and a concise summary of the results or conclusion, touching upon methods or other details only if they are unique or if they are of some particular significance. The abstract should be no longer than 100 words.
    • Introduction: The introduction should lead to the development of the subject so that the reader may obtain a clear understanding of the significance of the paper or article prepared.
    • Body: No mention of the author’s name shall be made in the body. Any reference to the author’s should read “the university” without giving the actual name. The main argument of the subject is carried out in the body of the paper, complete with supporting data. The argument should proceed in a logical sequence according to prepared outline. The writing should be in the third person.
    • Conclusion: The conclusion is often considered the most important part of the paper. It should be stated concisely in a separate section at the end of the paper. If there are three or more conclusions, better emphasis can be obtained by numbering each conclusion and setting it off in a separate paragraph.
    • Tables: Generally, each table should be typed on a separate sheet and numbered consecutively using Roman Numerals (Table I, Table II). Small tabulations or listings may be made in the text where necessary for continuity.
    • References: To enable the reader to consult important works used by the author incidental to the preparation of the paper which might be helpful, a suitable reference list should be appended.

    F. Oral Presentation
    • Eight (8) minutes shall be allotted for the oral presentation and four (4) minutes for questions from the audience, however these times are subject to change depending on the number of participants any time prior to the start of the contest.
    • The academic committee shall arrange a timing system, with the following characteristics:
    • (a) A signal will be given at the beginning of the oral presentation.
    • (b) A first warning signal will be given halfway through the presentation period.
    • (c) A second warning signal will be given two minutes prior to the end of the presentation period.
    • (e) The contest should cease talking when the stop signal is given. Each contest judges may assess a penalty of 5 points to the total oral presentation score for running overtime.
    • (f) The contestant will be stopped by the judges if he continues past the stop signal.
    • (g) In addition to the presentation period and the discussion period, the judges shall be given up to five (5) minutes to complete their evaluations between presentations.

    G. Judging
    • Evaluation and judging is based on 55 percent given to the written presentation and 45 percent weight given to the oral presentation.
    • The contestant’s final score will be the sum of each judge’s “Total Oral and Written Score.” This final score will be the sole determination of rankings unless a tie occurs.
    • Before any tie breaker vote, at the judges’ discretion they may choose to talk with each of the tied contestants. This will consist of further questions about the contestant’s paper and/or presentation and will last no more than five (5) minutes per contestant.

    H. Fees
    • For IEEE Members- Rs. 50/- per member
    • For Non-IEEE Members- Rs. 100/- per member
