Objective
- The workshop is intended to involve students to use MATLAB software for various domains of engineering like Control Systems, Communication and Image Processing. The workshop will help the students to gain some experience in using the powerful toolboxes of MATLAB and to use it in various fields for designing and analysis. The participants will have hands on experience of using the MATLAB for the concept learned in the talk.
Topics to be covered
Application of MATLAB in Communication and Image Processing byProf. M V Joshi
- Concepts on amplitude and phase distortions - experiments on wavefiles.
- Concepts on analog modulation.
- Concepts on DFT and use of DFT for filtering noisy data.
- Image processing topic: Image read, write and some simple image processing operations.
Prof P Sumathi
- Introduction to MATLAB and Simulink.
- Brief idea about control system toolbox.
- Creating control system models: Transfer function and State space models.
- Time response analysis of control systems.
- Root locus of control systems.
- Frequency response analysis.
- P, PI, PD and PID Controllers.
- Representation of Discrete time systems.
