  • Prof R.B.Lenin
    PhD (Maths. IIT, Madras)
TITLE: Random Variate Generation and Discrete Event Simulation
  • Dr. R. B. Lenin received the B.Sc. degree in mathematics from Madras University, Chennai, India, in 1992, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. From 1998 to 1999, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the University of Twente, Twente, The Netherlands, where he was involved with the "Stochastic Networks" project sponsored by the Nederlandse Organisatie voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (NWO) (Netherlands Foundation for Scientific Research), The Netherlands. From 1999 to 2003, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Universiteit Antwerpen, Antwerpen, Belgium, where he was involved with the "Computational Methods for Performance Evaluation and Simulation of Complex Technical Systems" project funded by the FWO (Flemish Division), Belgium. He was working as an assistant professor at South Asia International Institute, Hyderabad, India from 2003 to 2004. Since 2004, he is working as assistant professor at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. He has authored 26 publications in international journals and 4 papers in 6 papers in conference proceedings. He has won one of the prestigious prizes "Wolfowitz Prize" for the outstanding theoretical advances paper of the year 2005. The mathematical model used in one of his co-authored papers which appeared in 'IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques' is proposed to be implemented as a commercial software soon. His recent research interests include performance analysis of computer and communication systems using stochastic models and extrapolation methods and the computation of rational interpolants with prescribed poles with applications to computer systems and communication networks and discrete event system simulation.
