S.L. Maskara
 |
Prof. S L Maskara was faculty at IIT Kharagpur for last 38 years and after that he was a distinguished faculty at DA-IICT, Gandhinagar for a short span of one year. He has been known for his expertise in the fields of telecommunication such as Analogue and Digital Electronics, Network Theory, Circuit Theory, Communication Systems, Analogue and Digital Communications, Network Synthesis, Radar Signal Processing, Radar Systems, Microwave Communication Systems, Satellite Communications, Information Theory and Coding, Optical Communications, Computer Networks and Communication, Telecommunication Switching and Networks, Spread Spectrum Communications etc. He was Founder Chairman of G.S. Sanyal School of Telecommunications, IIT Kharagpur.
Apart from his teaching passion he also organised and coordinated many Short Term Courses on topics like Satellite Communication, Digital Signal Processing, Multiplexing and Multiple Access, Broadband Communication, Error Control Coding, Personal, Multimedia and Mobile Communications, Computer Networks, Telecommunication Networks, Spread Spectrum Communications, Optical Fibre Communications, Digital Switching and so on for various Academic Institutes and Industries. He participated in design and implementation of advanced level experiments in India 's APPLE and STEP Satellite Programmes. Prof. Maskara is a senior member of IEEE and has been associated with several international journals. He has published more than 150 research and review papers in various international journals in the field of telecommunication.

Y.S. Rao

Y.S. Rao is with Qualcomm Inc, San Diego as V.P,Technology, responsible for planning, installation and operation support of CDMA access networks around the world, with over 10 years of experience in CDMA and over 30 years in wireless technologies. His experience includes 1)Evaluation of new wireless technologies and products including 1x, DO ,UMTS/HSDPA and other broadband technologies 2)CDMA RF Network Planning 3)Development of SOWs and ATPs for CDMA operators 4)Packet Data implementations 5)Voice and data network optimization and 5)Spectrum and interference studies
His 30 years of experience covers various wireless technologies including R&D at the Telecommunications Research center, New Delhi, Department of Telecommunications and the Center for Development of Telematics, Bangalore. He taught CDMA training courses on CDMA 2000 standards, RF network planning, and voice and data optimization in various countries. He had most recently helped Reliance set up the largest CDMA 1x network in India with over 12 million subscribers in 3 years of being a wireless operator.
His educational qualifications include an M.Tech (ECE) from IIT, Delhi and a Ph.D (EE) from Jadavpur University. He published over 50 technical papers on wireless subjects including a contributing editor of a book on VSATs and lead speaker in many international forums including IETE and IEEE.

Shardul Thaker

Shardul Thaker is pursuing his PhD in the field of packet data services in 3G wireless systems at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technologies. His area of research is to design a QoS aware scheduler for packet data services in 3G.
He is having two years of experience as a Secretary of a research Project at Nirma Education and Research Foundation for developing VoIP phone. He has published over five technical papers. His educational qualification is B.E. (Information Technology).

C. S. Rao

C S Rao is the President & Chief Executive Officer of Lucent Technologies Hindustan Pvt. Ltd., effective July 2004. He spearheads Lucent's complete business activities covering sales, marketing and deployment of the wireline and wireless telecommunications network projects within India. Prior to joining Lucent, Mr. Rao was the Regional Director, SAARC at Tellabs. He was the key person responsible for setting-up Tellabs's software development center in India. Before this assignment, Mr. Rao was associated with Center for Development of Telematics (CDOT) Telecom Research, where he held the prestigious position of being advisor to the Prime Minister of India. A postgraduate in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Mr. Rao started his professional career in 1985 with ECIL India.
