| SATCOM '07 Two-Day Symposium on Satellite Communication Systems 27 - 28th October, 2007 |
Organized by: IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch The "Two-Day Symposium on Satellite Communication Systems" hosted by DA-IICT, Gandhinagar, with the support of the IEEE Gujarat Section and IEEE Student Branch, DA-IICT purports to involve students in a cohesive drive with academia and industry towards excellence in Satellite Communication Systems. |
| ISS '07 One Day Seminar on Information Systems Security 6th October, 2007 |
Organized by: IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch The rapid and dramatic advances in information technology (IT) in recent years have without question generated tremendous benefits. However, they have created significant and unprecedented risks to operations. Computer security has, in turn, become much more important at all levels of an organization to utilize information systems security measures to avoid data tampering, fraud, disruptions in critical operations, and inappropriate disclosure of sensitive information. |
| SICT '07 Workshop on Simulations in ICT March 17-18, 2007, DAIICT |
Organized by: IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch ICT is full of events based primarily on communicating processed data (image or speech) on some particular network. IEEE Student Branch of DAIICT is organizing a full day workshop on applications of simulations of such events falling under the purview of ICT. Workshop is organized with the aim of highlighting the widespread use of simulations for verification and modeling in the field of ICT.

| IWSOC '06 Intensive Workshop on Service-Oriented Computing December 16-17, 2006, DA-IICT |
Jointly organized by IEEE Gujarat Section and IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch Workshop was targeted towards sharing knowledge about development and deployment of Web services and Grid services, emerging opportunities and challenges, and core research issues. Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) is a newly emerging paradigm for distributed computing and e-business processing that utilizes services as fundamental elements to enable building agile networks of collaborating business applications distributed within and across organizational boundaries. |
| IEEE Seminar on How to write a technical paper August 27, 2006, DA-IICT |
|
Organised by IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch The talk mainly focused on beginners to enable them to write good quality research papers. The talk comprised of three lectures and was open to all with zero registration fees. The seminar attacted students of all years of B.Tech. M.Tech and MSIT. It was followed by an intriguing dialog between the audience and the speakers. |
| National Seminar on Computer Vision and Image Processing February 17-18, 2006, DA-IICT |
Jointly organized by IEEE Gujarat Section and IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch While the field of image processing deals with processing of digital images that are two-dimensional entities, computer vision adds the third dimension by computing the depth of the object. With a view to promote research and developmental activities in India in computer vision and image processing and the related fields by assembling experts and the researchers of the fields under one umbrella, a two-day national level seminar is proposed. |
| Workshop on MPEG by Prof. K R Rao January 09-10, 2006, DA-IICT |
Organised by IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch Prof. K. R. Rao (Inventor of popularly known transform DCT) visited Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar from 09-01-2006 to 12-01-2006. During his visit Prof. Rao conducted a Workshop on MPEG - History and Current Trends. |
| National Symposium on Packet Data Services in CDMA December 17-18, 2005, DA-IICT |
Organized by IEEE DA-IICT Student Branch This symposium will focus on standards developed for providing data services in AN/AS. It will cover the fundaments of UMTS Rel 99 and HSDPA – the standards of 3GPP, and cdma2001xRTT and 1xEV-DO – the standards evolved by 3GPP2 and QualComm. The performance in the last hop (AN/AS) – between the access node and the base station – plays a vital role in the end-to-end communication and varies in different standards of 3GPP and 3GPP2. Hence one needs to have through knowledge of it to optimize the network performance. |
