Problem solving is an art we perform everyday; be it standing in a queue, managing a bookshelf or finding shortest path to a destination. This is an art most people are familiar with if not all. The new thing is just to code it in a language. So fold your sleeves and Grab this opportunity to the fullest of taking part in one of the most exciting coding event, iRelay. A handful of questions and 3 participants, and prizes; where else would you get a chance like this? It doesn't matter whether you are a skilled coder or a newbie. The event as explained is a team event. Team will be of 3 members where each member will be given a chance to code for a specific amount of time and his next teammate will have to continue the work, just like it happens in relay races.

  • Contest is open for all the participants of i.Fest 2018.
  • This is a team event. Team will comprise of exactly 3 members.
  • There will be two coding rounds, both on same day, qualification round and final round. Qualification round will also be held in two parts - one for first year students and second for the rest of participants.
  • Teams on top 15 of leaderboards will qualify for the final round (number of qualifications can be changed according to the number of registrations).
  • Final round will be common for both, First year teams and rest of the teams, although leaderboard for both will be prepared separately.
  • There will be 3 problems in qualification round and 4 questions in final round. Please note that problems will be in increasing order of difficulty.
  • For qualification round, each team member will be allowed to code only for 20 minutes, while in final round, 30 minutes will be allowed. After allotted time is over, next teammate replaces current one and continues the chain.
  • Each solution will be tested based on test cases provided by us.
  • Top 3 of final leaderboard will be eligible for the prizes. Top 2 First year teams will also be eligible for prizes.

Your hack must be developed entirely during the Hackathon duration. You may use open source libraries and other freely available systems/services such as Google Maps, Facebook Connect, Twitter feeds etc.

"Blind C" comprises of 2 different sections (i.e. beginner and intermediate).

  • Only the first yearites can participate in the beginner section while all the other college students are eligible for the intermediate section.
  • The duration of the event will be around 2-2.5 hrs.

Beware machines gonna kill "not you chill", machine gonna fight, machine gonna win, and rule the ring. May your machine be the king.

Roboclash is a war between robots where the sole purpose is to win by immobilizing your opponent’s robot. Use all your engineering skills to design a robot which can defend it from opponents and more importantly destroy your worthy opponent by immobilizing them. Cage of death is waiting for the destruction.

Participants will pit their robots against each other in an arena and the fight will continue until one robot overtakes or overthrows another from the ring. Their may be some surprize fun events and more surprising stuffs waiting for your bot in the cage. Where the condition will be of do or die. Be king or slave. So get excited and come up to show what you and your talent can do, in front of thousands of people cheering and warming the breath.

Team Specification : A team may consist of a maximum of 4 participants, all from the same different institute.

General Rules : The competition will be played consisting of 2 players at a time , The maximum duration of each round will be 5 minutes.

  • The robot would be checked for its safety before the competition and would be discarded if found unsafe for other participants and spectators.
  • Judges' decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.
  • The organizers reserve the rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the website and notified to the registered teams.
  • Violation of any the above rules will lead to disqualification.

Criteria for Triumph :

  • A robot is declared victorious if its opponent is immobilized or out of the arena.
  • A robot will be declared immobile if it cannot display linear motion of at least one inch in a timed period of 30 seconds. A bot with one side of its drivetrain disabled will not be counted out if it can demonstrate some degree of controlled movement.
  • If both robots survive the five minutes at that point, the robot with the higher hit points wins.

Safety Rules :

  • Compliance with all event rules is mandatory. It is expected that competitors stay within the rules and procedures of their own accord and do not require constant policing.
  • If you have a robot or weapon design that does not fit within the categories set forth in these rules or is in some way ambiguous or borderline, please contact the event organizers.
  • All weapons must have a safety cover on any sharp edges.

Problem statement : Design and construct a remote or wired controlled robot capable of fighting a one on one tournament.

Dimensions and Fabrications :

  • The bot should fit in a box of dimension 1.7ft * 1.7ft * 1.7ft (l x b x h) with all mechanisms fully executing motions. Length and width is measured to the extremities of the Robot, i.e. includes any overhanging bodywork, weaponry or protrusions. The external device used to control the bot is not included in the size constraint.

Mobility : All bots must have easily visible and controlled mobility in order to compete. Methods of mobility include :

  • Rolling (wheels, tracks or the whole robot).
  • Jumping and hopping is allowed to an extent of 1/2ft.
  • Flying (using airfoil, helium balloons, ornithopters, etc.) is not allowed.

Robot Control Requirements :

  • If the bot is wired then the wire should remain slack under all circumstances during the competition. All the wires coming out of the bot should be stacked as a single unit. The wires should be properly insulated. Teams are suggested to use only rated wires such as ISI marked. Loose connections or improper wiring may lead to direct disqualification even before the event.
  • If the bot is controlled wirelessly, the bot must at least have a four frequency remote control circuit or two dual control circuits which may be interchanged before the start of the race to avoid frequency interference with other teams. The case of any interference in the wireless systems will not be considered for rematch or results.
  • Remote control systems from toys might be used. Remote control systems available in the market may also be used.

Battery and Power :

  • The machine can be powered electrically only. Batteries must be sealed, immobilized electrolyte types (such as Li-ion, NiCd, NiMH or dry cells).
  • Working voltages must not exceed 24V DC (mean voltage) at any point of time.
  • All power connections must be of an adequate grade and adequately insulated. Cables must be routed to minimize the chances of being cut.
  • All efforts must be made to protect battery terminals from a direct short and causing a battery fire, failure to do so will cause direct disqualification.
  • Battery Eliminators are allowed and power source would be available at the venue for the eliminators. Motors: The robot should move as fast as possible around the arena with the help of motors.
  • DC motors and stepper motors (12V-24V) can be used as per the design of bots.

Design a manually controlled or wireless robot that has the capacity to cover maximum distance in shortest time, facing the hurdles. The path may consist of unevenness, bridges, tunnel and a lot challenging obstacles. Remember, just maximising the RPM will not help. You got to be a little smarter. And, get ready for an electrifying game at the end. So, you think your bot can be victorious? Then set in on track!

ROBOT SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bot can be wired or wireless.
  • Maximum size of bot can be 25cm x 25cm x 25cm
  • Battery should be present on board
  • Maximum 24 volt battery and 500 rpm driving motors
  • Sufficient wire length (for wired bots) so that it remains slack during the entire run

RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Teams have to bring their bots in fully working condition
  • Maximum team size can be 5. People from different colleges can be in a team. Each member needs to carry his/her college identity card
  • Readymade toy cars are not allowed
  • No modifications can be made once the bot is put on track
  • Only one member can control the bot on track
  • Scoring is based purely on time. In case of disputes, decision lies in the hands of coordinators

PHASES OF EVENTS

The event is divided in two phases :

Phase 1 : Robo Race - Your target is to cover the entire track in the least possible time. Let your bot go on an adventurous ride on our exciting track.

  • Track width will be 35cms.
  • The track surface may have unevenness and turns.
  • Maximum 3 hand touches will be allowed, with 5 seconds penalty for each hand touch
  • 10 seconds penalty will be added for robot leaving the track
  • If a bot cannot overcome some obstacles, the team can skip it with penalty added depending on the obstacle.
  • If bot stops midway without any obstacle, the team can start all over again with added penalty.

Phase 2 : Pool - So, after crossing all the hurdles, is your robot ready to play? Welcome to pool! Your goal is to push the ball into the hole and score maximum. Get, set, Go!

  • Every hole has a score related to it. Harder the hole to reach, more the score it carries
  • Bots of 3 teams will play at a time for 2 minutes and scores will be noted
  • A time t=score/100 will be removed from your previous time, so the overall result depends on your performance in both phases

Rules :

  • Each team comprises of 2 members.
  • Reach the venue 15 minutes prior to the event. Latecomers would lose their time in the game.
  • For on spot registration reach the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the event.
  • There will be 21 questions.
  • Each question has one answer, and the correct answer will lead you to the next question.
  • The answer should be written at the end of the URL. You have to write all the answers in small letters and answers with more than one word should be written without any space.
  • Eg:- suppose your answer to question no. 3 is harry potter.

  • There will be three prizes for the winner, the first and second runner-ups. The positions will be decided solely on the basis of individual timings.

There will be 25-30 questions - easy or moderate type. Top 32 teams will move to the next round.

2) Face Off (Elimination round)
“Beat your opponent and get a chance to bid”
In this round, there will be two Face off competitions winners of the first Face off will move to the next Face off and defeated teams will be eliminated. Winners of second Face off will move to the final round and defeated teams in this Face Off will be eliminated.

8 teams will move to final.

3) Auction round :
“You have to be a smart bidder and a math geek to win this event”
Each team will have default virtual money to bid for questions. There will be 8 questions.
Each question will be displayed for 2 minutes on the screen. Team with the highest bid gets a chance to answer the question. If they are unable to answer, the team with second highest bid gets a chance to answer. If they are also unable to answer, then the question is dropped.

i.Fest '18 presents you i.Capture 2.0, the same old event in a new avatar. What's new you ask? Online prefest challenges, themed main event, storytelling through a series of moments captured through your lenses and many more we say.

The actual contest will be a theme based. We will release the themes well prior to the main event. The photo(s) will have to tell a story on the theme. A person can at max send an entry of 3 photos telling a story related to the theme. Tell us a story through your photo(s).

The online photohunt will show us how much the social biz likes your perspective from a lens view.

  • Forbidden places: both HoRs, faculty residence, terraces, faculty block, club house, basketball court, SAC-1,inside Resource Center, outside the campus.
  • Any harm done to the property of college will lead to disqualification and strict actions.
  • The entire team should be present at each spot for collecting the next clue.
  • Use of any type of transport except walking will lead to disqualification.
  • Any material provided to the teams should be maintained throughout the game.

1) FIFA

  • Rounds of Fifa '18 will be started from 5th October 2018.
  • The players will be given an option to use either keyboard or controller. Controllers and Keyboards will be provided but it will be better if the players bring their own controllers, so that they may feel on home turf.
  • If the number of players is assymetrical, both style of play and goal difference will be considered for tie-breaker.

2) DOTA-2

  • Rounds start from 6th October.
  • One team is of 5 players.
  • All the players must try to bring their own steam accounts. If they don’t bring it with themselves, i.Clash team will arrange for it.
  • There is no time limit on the game.

3) Clash Royale (CR)

  • Event starts from 6th October
  • The matches would be separate for those with more than 2500 trophies and those with less than 2500 trophies.
  • Only the highest trophies (and not the current trophies) will be considered.
  • Note that the limit of 2500 points is only for 1 vs. 1 matches. There is no such restriction for 2 vs. 2 matches.
  • For both the categories, the matches would be best of 3.

4) PUBG (Mobile)

  • Event starts from 6th October
  • Lab rounds (rather CEP rounds)Every match would be conducted in separate rooms.
  • The division into rooms will be on first come-first serve basis, i.e., the first 100 to come will be placed in same room,next 100 in another and so on. No other requests will be entertained about this.
  • The above rule is same for squads as well. The first come first serve basis is applied for 25 squads at a time.
  • Highest solo kills and squad kills qualify for higher rounds, even if they don’t win.
  • No emulators are allowed-(No laptops!).
  • The number of squads and solo to be selected in these rounds, depend on the total participation.

5) Counter Strike – Global Offensive

  • Rounds will commence from 6th October.
  • The team size is 5 - (5 vs. 5 matches).
  • The participants must try to bring their own steam accounts. If some of them can’t, the i.Clash team will provide for it.
  • All the rounds are Competitive only.
  • All of the players who need their own equipment (headphones, gaming mouse, etc) are allowed to do so. However, speakers are not allowed.

6) Need for Speed – Most Wanted

  • Most Wanted rounds start from 5th October
  • Best game times for a selected track will be considered for the 1st round. For subsequent rounds we may consider best of 3 races. However, it is subject to change depending on number of registrations.
  • Contestants will be allowed to choose any car they desire.
  • The races will not have any traffic and crash detection will be off! Keyboards will be provided by us but you have to bring your own headphones, if you need them. No speakers are allowed.

i.Maze provides an arena to train your brain. Check how fit your brain is by attempting logical questions, puzzles, word teasers and the sort. The event consists of 2 levels. Shortlisted participants based on their scores will advance to second round. The duration of the first level will be 1:15 hours and the second level will be 1 hour.

Round 1 :

  • The time duration will be around 60 mins.
  • The paper will comprise of 35 questions.
  • The participants will have to choose whether they want to opt for negative marking with bonus points (+5 for correct & -1 for incorrect answer) or normal marking without negative marking (+4 for correct & 0 for incorrect answer).
Round 2 :
  • The time duration will be around 60 mins.
  • The second round will comprise of a maze-like questionnaire where the next question to be solved will be determined by the answer of the previous question.
  • The points will sum up according to how many questions the participants solve in accordance with the maze.
Rules & Regulation :
  • Use of any kind of electronic devices like calculators/mobile phones etc. during the event is NOT allowed.
  • Any malpractice will result in termination from the event.
  • In any scenario, decision of the event coordinators will be final.

Creativity isn't the way you think, it's the way you like to live. So, guys, you all are most welcome to unleash your thought into creativity.

Structure

  • Open to 30 teams on first come first basis.
  • Each team can have a maximum of 5 members.
  • Each team will be given all the required materials and they will have to make a useful product according to given topic.
  • Your product will be judged on the basis of design, creativity and topic relevance.
  • The rules can be changed by the coordinators at any time without any prior notice.

We all know to ride a bicycle fast, but the real challenge lies in riding it slow.

There will be three rounds in total.

  • Round 1 :- This round will be normal as we are expecting high participations, there will be competition between six participants and slowest three will go to further rounds.
  • Round 2 :-This is also normal round but one restriction is added that breaks are not allowed.
  • Round 3 :-This round has two tasks for the riders. The riders will be provided with sheet of some written words in A4 size paper. They have to remember as many words as they can during their ride. After finishing, we will provide them some time to write down as many correct words as they remember, and provide them some bonus according to number of correct words written.

Rules :

  • No touching the floor. Once you have both feet on the pedals you must not take them off
  • Bikes must travel forward only.
  • No leaving your lane.
  • No touching other riders
  • Decisions made by coordinators are final
