Objective:
With the explosion of Internet technology and graphics
engines, there has been a massive growth in the research
area of computer vision and image processing. While the
field of image processing deals with processing of digital
images that are two-dimensional entities, computer vision
adds the third dimension by computing the depth of the
object. With a view to promote research and developmental
activities in India in computer vision and image processing
and the related fields by assembling experts and the researchers
of the fields under one umbrella, a two-day national level
seminar is proposed. The primary goal of the seminar is
to promote scientific information exchange amongst experts,
researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners
working in the country. The scientific program of the
seminar will consist of presentations by leading experts
from all over India in the field of computer vision and
image processing. The experts will address the recent
developments and trends in the fields. The Participants
will get enough opportunity to enhance their knowledge
regarding the recent state-of-the-art in the fields through
interaction with experts. This will stimulate the research
potential of the candidates who wish to pursue Doctoral
degree in the related fields. In addition, the Participants
will learn some of the techniques used in computer vision
and image processing through Laboratory session.
Theme: Recent Trends and Developments
in the field of Computer Vision and Image Processing.
Participants: Senior under graduate
students, graduate students, researchers from academia
as well as industry and faculty members interested in
the field of computer vision and image processing from
all over India are encouraged to participate.

About DA-IICT:
Promoted by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and the
Reliance Group, in pursuance of a Memorandum of Understanding
entered into with the Government of Gujarat, to impart
information and communication technology (ICT) education
and research of international standards. The intellectual
ambience at DA-IICT is creating a technology knowledge
hub and virtual feel that can trigger the scientific
brain-power of the learners and researchers, and challenge
them to shape up as knowledge workers and intellectual
leaders. The green campus of DA-IICT is at Gandhinagar,
the capital of the state of Gujarat. The city of Ahmedabad
is about 25 km.s from the Institute, while the domestic
and international airports are just about 15 km.s away.
